USS St. Louis

USS St. Louis has been the name of six ships in the United States Navy. All were named for the city in Missouri.

  • The first St. Louis was a sloop-of-war commissioned in 1828.
  • The second St. Louis was a gunboat later renamed Baron de Kalb during the American Civil War.
  • The third St. Louis was a transatlantic passenger liner, charter for Naval service during the Spanish-American War. Later renamed Louisville (SP-1644).
  • The sixth St. Louis was decommissioned in 1992.
