Thranta)
This is a list of Creatures in the fictional Star Wars universe.
Acklay
The Acklay is a tall six-legged creature, similar in stance to a praying mantis, but with a head full of sharp teeth. One Acklay is seen in the Execution Arena on Geonosis in Attack of the Clones.
Conduit Worm
Conduit Worms are long worms that live in the electrical wiring channels of underground Coruscant and thrive on the electrical currents sent through them.
Dewback
Dewbacks are large reptilian creatures native to Tatooine. They are commonly used as beasts of burden.
Dianoga
Dianogas are squid-like creatures seen in A New Hope on board the Death Star, swimming around in the garbage compacters. They have a single eye at the front of their bodies used to scope around. One pulls Luke Skywalker under the water and is scared away by the walls closing in.
Duracrete Slug
Having been spread throughout the galaxy by freighters and cargo ships, Duracrete slugs dig tunnel into building foundations and feed off of the concrete in there. Some specimens have been as long as ten meters.
Eopie
Mynock
The Mynock is a silicon-based organism that is found in the Star Wars series. Mynocks are generally one of the few species of creature that can live in the vacuum of space. Mynocks are commonly eaten by another silicon-based creature called a space slug. Mynocks resemble bats in some ways, such as their wing shape. They use electrical energy to gain energy, and thus, can become stuck to many power cables on ships. The energy is absorbed through a big sucker-like mouth located between the eye stalks of the creature. It is commonly known that swarms of Mynocks can be found alive flying around a Space Slug's innards a long time before they start to become digested. They can be found either travelling solitarily, or more commonly, in huge packs.
Nexu
Nexu are tiger-like creatures that can be found on the planet of Cholganna. One was in the Execution Arena on Geonosis in Attack of the Clones.
Reek
The Reek is a large rhino-like animal, native to the plains of Ylesia. They are herbivores by nature, however starvation by the Geonosians made them carnivorous for the Execution Arena.
Ronto
Rontos are large four legged creatures that live primarly on the planet Tatooine. Some are seen being ridden by Jawas in the spaceport of Mos Eisley.
Shaak
Shaaks are plump quadrupedal herd animals, often raised for their meat. They are native to the grasslands of Naboo, where they graze on flowers and grass.
Space Slug
Space slugs are a fictional species of gastropod found in the Star Wars movie series , role-playing game, and books. They are a silicon based lifeform that feed on another race of silicon based animal called a Mynock. Space slugs generally make their habitats in asteroids, where they permanently spend their lives. This is due to the fact that their "tail" is actually like a system of roots that tie into the innards of the asteroid. Many space slugs have been found in the Hoth Asteroid Field, some that were hundreds of feet long and dubbed "titan". They have been known to actually eat sections of an Imperial Star Destroyer when they skim too close to a slug's grasp.
Stone Mite
Stone mites are scorpion-like creatures that cling to spaceships and pick at their hulls and through solid metal with strong jaws and acidic saliva. Three individual stone mites can merge to form an ambiotic triont that features a hard shell which strengthens from electrolytic reactions. These creatures have been suspected to be the work of military genetic engineers.
Thranta
Thrantas are a group of flying animals found originally on Alderaan. While there were multiple breeds varying in size and functions (some for personal travel, others for massive air ferries) most Thrantas served the purpose of being air transport, especially for the Kaminoans on the planet Kamino. The predominant physical feature of these creatures were their Manta Ray like figure.
Exodus
Thrantas survived the extinction of most Alderaanian life by the Death Star however, due to a few members of their species being shipped to the Tibanna gas rich planet, Bespin. Some were also on Coruscant but died due to the air pollution, and only in Bespin can one see the Thrantas thrive as a tourist attraction to the world as either wild beasts, or in Thranta rodeos.
