History

At the time of the Gaul, Thérouanne was the capital of Morinie , country of the Morins (Belgian tribe). It was then the seat of the significant diocese, most famous for its bishop being Saint-Omer. During the Middle Ages, Thérouanne belonged to the county of Artois .
