Stanley Elkin

Stanley Elkin (May_11, 1930 - May_31, 1995) was the author of satirical novels which gently poked fun at American consumerism, popular culture and male-female relationships. His novel George Mills won the 1982 National Book Award. Elkin, an English professor at Washington University in St. Louis, battled multiple sclerosis for most of his adult life.
