Soleares, one of the most basic forms of Flamenco music, probably originated around Cádiz in the Andalusia region of southern Spain. Normally played in the key of E phrygian, the tones are reminiscent of old Moorish melodies.
The rhythm is one of the most fundamental in Flamenco. Each falseta consists of 12 beats (4 measures of 3/4 time) with emphasis as follows: 1 2 [3] 4 5 [6] 7 [8] 9 [10] 11 [12]
