Siwi is a Berber Afro-Asiatic language of Egypt, spoken by about 5,000 people in and around the oasis of Siwa near the Libyan border. Siwi's relation to other Berber languages is not very close. Most speakers of Siwi also know Arabic, and the language contains a large number of Egyptian Arabic loanwords.
