Sherman Antitrust Act

The Sherman Antitrust Act, named for its author, Senator John Sherman of Ohio, is the principal antimonopoly law in United States business law. It made illegal "Every contract, combination, in the form of trust, or otherwise, or conspiracy, in restraint of trade or commerce among the several states."

The United States Congress passed the Sherman Antitrust Act in 1890.
