Progressive creationism

Progressive creationism is the belief that God created the universe through an on-going process. This process is usually equated with the Big Bang, as well as geologic and biological evolution. Although many fiat creationists equate progressive creationism with theistic evolution, it is distinct from theistic evolution in that God is seen to regularly involve himself in the process through special creative acts. Most notably, most progressive creationists would state that God specially created Adam directly as opposed to breathing life into a sub-human animal. Theistic evolution ties closely with Deism.

Proponents of the Progressive Creation theory include Millary Erickson, author of the classic text book Christian Theology, and neo-evangelical theologian Bernard Ramm.
