Prince Muhammad Abdul Moneim served as chairman of the Council of Egyptian Regency, from 26 July 1952 to 18 June 1953, after which time, General Mohammad Naguib took power, ending the rule of Monarch governments installed by the British Empire. Abdul Moneim served as acting Regent for the (uncrowned) heir to the throne of Egypt, Faud II, son of Prince Muhammad Ali - the last official King of Egypt. Prince Muhammad Abdul Moneim was also a one time spokesman for Egyptian President, Hosni Mubarak.
