Peter Gammons

right
Peter Gammons (born April 9, 1945) is a sportswriter and media personality. His career in journalism began after he graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1969.

Gammons was featured at the Boston Globe for many years as the main journalist covering the Boston Red Sox. He still resides in Massachusetts.

Between his two stints as a baseball columnist with the Globe, he was lead baseball columnist for Sports Illustrated. Since 1989, he has worked at ESPN as an in-studio analyst. During the baseball season, he appears nightly on Baseball Tonight and has regular spots on SportsCenter and ESPN radio. He is regarded as one of the top men in the sports media business and has done many high-profile interviews in his days with ESPN.

Usually in the know when it comes to baseball trades and transactions, Gammons brings more analysis to the table than anyone else at ESPN. He is regularly interviewed by numerous radio stations and TV broadcasts. Gammons is a perennial favorite for the J. G. Taylor Spink Award for outstanding baseball writing by the Baseball Hall of Fame.
