Off-color humor

The term off-color humor is used to describe jokes, prose, poems, and skits etc. that deal with topics that are considered to go against the prevailing morals in a culture. Subjects that are concerned with a particular racial group or gender are most often considered to be off-color. Other off-color topics include: Sexually explicit material; violence, particularly domestic abuse; excessive swearing; national superiority or inferiority and other topics generally considered impolite or indecent.
