Nathaniel Beverly Tucker (1784 - 1851), born in Virginia, became a Professor, of Law in William and Mary College. He wrote a novel, The Partisan Leader (1836), a prophecy of the future disunion which led to the Civil War. It was republished in 1861 as A Key to the Southern Conspiracy . Another novel was George Balcombe .
