Moore County is a county located in the state of Tennessee. As of 2000, the population is 5,740. It forms a consolidated city-county government with its county seat of Lynchburg6.

Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 338 km² (130 mi²). 335 km² (129 mi²) of it is land and 3 km² (1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.93% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 5,740 people, 2,211 households, and 1,686 families residing in the county. The population density is 17/km² (44/mi²). There are 2,515 housing units at an average density of 8/km² (20/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 95.84% White, 2.72% Black or African American, 0.19% Native American, 0.14% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.51% from other races, and 0.61% from two or more races. 0.78% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 2,211 households out of which 30.70% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.10% are married couples living together, 7.60% have a female householder with no husband present, and 23.70% are non-families. 21.40% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.10% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.55 and the average family size is 2.95.
