Mishal Husain (sometimes spelt Mishal Hussein) is a news anchor for the news channel BBC World. She is also a presenter on the BBC arts, media, entertainment and culturetalk show, Hardtalk Extra .

During her time at the BBC she has worked on its Breakfast programme, as the organisation's correspondent in Washington, on Asia Business Report in Singapore, as a reporter for BBC’s Economics and Business Unit, and finally as a presenter of business news on both BBC World and BBC News 24.

She gained her first experience of journalism, at the age of 18, working on Pakistan’s The News, a widely-read English language newspaper. She has also worked for Bloomberg Television in London.

Mishal was born in the UK but grew up in the United Arab Emirates. Her family are from Pakistan and she maintains close links with the country. She read Law at Cambridge University and completed a Master's degree in International and Comparative Law at the European University Institute in Florence.
