Microcosmic salt (stercorite; ammonium sodium hydrogenphosphate, (NH4)NaHPO4) is a salt found in urine. The first extraction of pure phosphorus came from this salt, when Henning Brandt attempted to extract gold from urine. Today it is used to test for metal oxides.
