Max Martin

Max Martin (born February 26, 1971) is a music producer.

He was born in Stockholm, Sweden as Martin Sandberg, but changed his name to Max Martin in the 1990s.

Max Martin dropped out of high school to pursue a career in music and soon landed a record deal with his band It's Alive on the label Cheiron. After recording an album they toured through Europe for a while. The owner of the Cheiron label, Denniz Pop , soon started collaborating with Martin as songwriters and producers for other bands. In 1992 Martin was hired by Cheiron as a producer and soon collaborated with Pop on an Ace of Base album and on albums by Leila K , Army of Lovers and 3T.

In 1997 Cheiron was hired to work on a Backstreet Boys album. Martin was part of the production of "Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)", "As Long as You Love Me," and "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)". Later that year Martin co-produced Robyn’s hit "Show Me Love".

In 1998 Cheiron worked on albums by 5ive and NSYNC. After Denniz Pop died of Cancer that summer Martin took over as director of Cheiron. He soon started working with the writer/producer Rami , who has been his partner since.

In 1999 Martin produced Britney Spears' international hit "Baby One More Time".

Martin closed down Cheiron in 2000 and started the new production company Maratone .
