Lloyds List

Lloyds List is one of the world's oldest continuously-running journals, having printed shipping news in London at least as early as 1741.

It was begun by the proprietors of Lloyd's Coffee House in the City of London as a reliable but terse source of information for the merchants and underwriters who met there regularly. Initially it only listed movements of merchant and naval vessels, but expanded over the centuries to provide news and, occasionally, opinion.
