LAPA (Lineas Aereas Privadas de Argentina), was an Argentine airline. It started operations in 1977.
On September 1, 1999, a LAPA Boeing 737-200 crashed during takeoff from Jorge Newbury Airport in Buenos Aires, killing 74, including 10 on the ground. The LAPA Airlines Flight 3142 overshot the runway during takeoff from the Buenos Aires Airport, hitting two cars and bursting into flames.
Many of its assets are now owned by Lineas Aereas Federales .
