Karel Bonaventura Buquoy (1571 - 1621) was a military commander of French ancestry who fought for the Holy Roman Empire during the Thirty Years' War. In 1618, Emperor Mathias placed him in command of Imperial forces sent to Bohemia to put down a rebellion among the Czech aristocracy. He also commanded the Imperial forces during the Battle of the White Mountain on November 8, 1620. As a result of his successes, Emperor Ferdinand II gave him estates at Nové Hrady , Rožmberk and Libějovice . The estates remained in the Buquoy family until 1945.

Buquoy died during the siege of Nové Zámky.
