John Colin Dunlop
John Colin Dunlop (circa 1785 - 1842), historian, son of a Lord Provost of Glasgow, where and at Edinburgh he was educated, was called to the Bar in 1807, and became Sheriff of Renfrewshire. He wrote a History of Fiction (1814), a History of Roman Literature to the Augustan Age (1823-28), and Memoirs of Spain during the Reigns of Philip IV. and Charles II. (1834). He also made translations from the Latin Anthology.
