Jan Miner (October 15, 1917 - February 15, 2004) became an icon to generations of TV viewers as Madge, the wisecracking manicurist for Palmolive Dishwashing Detergent. She played Madge for 27 years, and made the commercials in French, German, Danish and Italian. She was married to actor Richard Merrell until his death in 1998, and often appeared with him on the stage. She died in Bethel, Connecticut of natural causes.
