Henderson-Hasselbalch equation

The Henderson-Hasselbalch equation in chemistry is:

pH=pKa+log\frac{[A^-]}{[HA]}

It describes the derivation of pH as a measure of acidity in biological systems. The equation is also useful for estimating the pH of a buffer solution. See acid-base balance , acidosis, alkalosis.
