Hearts of Fire

Originally written by Scott Richardson, Hearts of Fire was rewritten by Joe Eszterhas because the studio felt that Richardson was, in their eyes, a "baby writer" and not experienced enough to take on the responsibility of a starring vehicle for Bob Dylan.

Dylan is rumored to have threatened a lawsuit to keep the resulting rewrite by Eszterhas from being made and it is also regarded as the film that "killed Richard Marquand".

The film "tanked" in the theaters and only enjoyed a run of approximately two weeks.
