History

Hapag-Lloyd Express was initiated in the early 2000s. Its primary bases in Germany are Hamburg Airport, Stuttgart Airport, and Cologne Bonn Airport. It serves several destinations in Western Europe such as Dublin and London from these bases. It is currently engaged in a price war with these carriers. As of June 2004, Hapag-Lloyd Express served twenty-four cities from its German bases.

Hapag-Lloyd Express airplanes are highly recognisable with a distinctive taxi-style look - a chequered black and white line wrapped around a yellow body, aiming to convey the image of quick, cheap point-to-point service.
