  • India, see General Post Office, Mumbai. It is the term for the head post office in any major city.
  • Ireland: General Post Office is the name of the main post office in the Republic of Ireland, see General Post Office (Dublin)
  • Australia: General Post Office is the name of the main post office, in each state, although it is normally referred to by the name of the city in which it is located, i.e. Sydney GPO, Melbourne GPO, etc.
  • Hong Kong: There is one General Post Office in the central business district. It has the role of the headquarters of the postal service of Hong Kong.
