G class transport vessel

(Redirected from G-boat)

Introduction

The G class transport is a type of vessel in use by the Finnish Navy and the Royal Swedish Navy.

Also known as Watercat M8 (G-boat) designed by Marine Alutech.

The G-boat was originally designed for the Swedish Navy which ordered about 100 of them. Its primary use is landing and transportation for the marines. It has a very low draft (approximately 20 cm) at high speeds which makes it ideal for amphibious assault even in shallow waters.
