Foveola suprameatica

The foveola suprameatica is an anatomical structure of the human temporal bone, also called suprameatal pit, fossa suprameatalis, supramastoid fossa or suprameatal triangle.

It is a small triangular depression at the junction of the posterior and superior borders of the external acoustic meatus , posterior to the suprameatal spine.

It has been also named Macewen's triangle, in honor of Sir William Macewen (1864-1924), a Scottish surgeon who studied it.
