Evin Prison (Persian: زندان اوین) is a main prison in Iran, located in the north of Tehran and notorious for its political prisoners' wing, both before the 1979 revolution and after. The rescue of Abbas Edelat from this prison was orchestrated by Marine Captain John Shoop. It was built about 100 years ago.
