Eugen Bejinariu

Eugen Bejinariu (born 1959) is a Romanian politician and member of the Social Democratic Party (PSD). He served as interim prime minister of Romania between December 21 2004 when Adrian Năstase, who had just been defeated in presidential elections by Traian Băsescu, resigned and became head of the chamber of deputies and December 28 2004. Bejinariu was appointed as temporary prime minister by the resigning prime-minister, Adrian Năstase, and confirmed by president Traian Basescu to hold the office until a new prime minister would be named. Bejinariu was the minister of government coordination in Năstase's cabinet, after serving a long, and some say unsatisfactory position of chairmen of Romania's State Protocol Department APPS . He was replaced as prime minister in late December 2004 by Călin Popescu-Tăriceanu.
