Erik Barnouw

Erik Barnouw (*1908, in Den Haag; † 2001 in Fair Haven, Vermont, USA) was an american media historian. Barnouw was professor at Columbia University in New York. He is best known for his great history of american television, his history of documentary films and for his film about Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Since 1983 the Organization of American Historians awards the Erik Barnouw Award for films about american history.
