The El Paso Intelligence Center was established in 1974 for the purpose of preventing and gathering information on drug trafficking and illegal immigration, and is now staffed with over 300 personnel from 15 agencies. EPIC is located at Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX, and is run jointly by the DEA and the CBP division of the DHS Immigration and Customs Enforcement bureau. In the pre-DHS era, the three main federal agencies at EPIC were the DEA, the INS, and Customs.
