Drawn Together

Drawn Together is a fictional animated parody of reality TV shows (more specifically The Surreal Life) on Comedy Central. Comedy Central advertises it as the first animated reality show. In it, eight cartoon characters (mostly recognizable parodies of cartoon archetypes) are forced to live in a house together. It is adult-oriented, with plot lines revolving around such topics as the fact that Princess Clara's vagina is a multi-tentacled monster (this is a theme found in a number of hentai films). In some episodes, characters participate in challenges that are based off of reality TV challenges.

Drawn Together was created by Dave Jeser and Matt Silverstein , and first aired on October 27, 2004.

Characters

Captain Hero

Voiced by Jess Harnell . Captain Hero is a chauvinistic superhero with a frat-boy mentality. He is also a devoteé of bondage and crypto-homosexual behaviour. He is a macho parody of comic-book heroes like Superman.

Princess Clara

Voiced by Tara Strong. She is spoiled, pampered, racist royalty, and a spoof on Disney/storybook characters like Snow White and Belle from Beauty and the Beast. She represents a stereotypical upper class WASP, and does not understand minorities or those less fortunate than her. She has a "special" cousin named Bleh. Her genitalia was cursed by her stepmother, which she calls an "Octopussoir". She also has a crush on rebels like Spanky.

Ling-Ling

Voiced by Abbey McBride . He/it (Ling-Ling was placed on the male team in a parody of The Apprentice, but is usually called "it") is a spoof on Pikachu and speaks in an incomprehensible parody of Japanese. Though the other characters cannot understand it, they often pretend it is saying just what they want to hear. It is suggested that Spanky Ham can understand it, but doesn't bother to translate for the housemates. It secretes a hallucinogen through the skin when disappointed.

Foxxy Love

Voiced by Cree Summer. She is a sassy, promiscuous, African-American fox-girl, and a spoof on Valerie from Josie and the Pussycats. Foxxy often hints at a deranged relationship with her father, with elements of abandonment and a sexual desire. There are also hints that she gave up a child for adoption.

Spanky Ham

Voiced by Adam Carolla. He is a horny, dorky swine with few social skills, who is a parody of the immature characters found on bad internet Flash movies. The cartoon character is, in his "life" away from the show, an animated barker who inhabits an internet port site, introducing the viewer to the various wares available on that site. He often bosses around other characters for his personal gain. He is crudly animated and appears to be somewhat visually based on the South Park characters. He also resembles porn star Ron Jeremy, who was featured in the reality show The Surreal Life.

Xandir

Voiced by Jack Plotnick . The character is supposedly 19 years old and represents the stereotypical gay participant selected to appear in reality television. A caricature of generic adventurer game characters such as Link from The Legend of Zelda, at the outset of the show, he is on a "never ending quest to save his girlfriend" who is a spoof of the eponymous Zelda from The Legend of Zelda and other video game maidens. After he comes "out of the closet" during the gay episode, he is on a "never ending quest to save his boyfriend," a parody of Robin Williams's animated portrayal of the Genie from Disney's Aladdin. While Drawn Together basically revolves around straight-boy, frathouse humor, the series demonstrates a remarkable "queer sensibility" and cognizance of such activities as glory hole sex, fisting, etc...

Toot Braunstein

Voiced by Tara Strong. She is a feisty black & white former sex symbol and a spoof on Betty Boop. She cuts herself or overeats when depressed (which is often). She is upset when other characters are getting a lot of attention. She is the show's designated "bitch."

Wooldoor Sockbat

Voiced by James Arnold Taylor. He is a spoof on Spongebob Squarepants and is loud and annoying. He uses pop culture references on occasion (such as when he is swallowed by Clara's vagina, the interior of which looks like the trash compactor from Star Wars, and says "3-PO, 3-PO!").
