Donald Edward Osterbrock (born July 13 1924) is an American astronomer.
He was director of Lick Observatory from 1973 to 1981.
He won the Henry Norris Russell Lectureship and the Bruce Medal in 1991. He won the Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society in 1997.
