Donald Black

Donald Black is University Professor of the Social Sciences at the University of Virginia, who previously taught at Yale Law School and Harvard Law School.

He has invented an epistemology (pure sociology), explanatory strategy (social geometry), and body of theory (conflict management, scienticity , and more). His 1976 book The Behavior of Law has been hailed as a major contribution to the sociology of law, and the body of his work as a whole signify a revolutionary approach to sociology, and a new paradigmatic direction for the discipline.
