The Division of Bruce is an Australian Electoral Division in Victoria. The division was created in 1955 and is named for Stanley Bruce, who was Prime Minister of Australia 1923-29. It is located in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Until 1996 it was based on Glen Waverley and Mount Waverley, and was a fairly safe seat for the Liberal Party, but since then its boundaries have been extended southwards, making it a marginal Australian Labor Party seat. It now includes the suburbs of Dandenong, Noble Park and Springvale. Its most prominent member has been Sir Billy Snedden, who was Leader of the Liberal Party 1972-75 and Speaker 1976-83.
