Dekla

In Latvian mythology, Dekla (from det meaning "to make") was one of a trinity of goddesses of fate that included her sisters Karta and Laima. All three may have been aspects of Laima.

She was associated with children and infants and was often depicted with them at her breast.

In original Latvian mythology, as opposed to dievturiba, Dekla was the goddess of fortune and destiny. She associates with Laima, and they are in many ways doubles, though Laima associated with humanity more. She was worshipped primarily in western Latvia.

Alternative: Dehkla
