Denmark will hold a referendum in 27 September, 2005 in order decide whether it should ratify the Treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe.
A recent opinion poll indicated that 49% of Danes are expected to vote in favour of the Constitution, with 26% opposing. [1]
Positions of political parties
Most political parties in the Danish Parliament, the Folketinget, support the European constitution with the exception of the Danish People's Party and the Red-Green Alliance. These two parties together hold 30 seats out of 179 in the Danish Parliament.
