Cyril Ritchard was born December 1, 1897 in Sydney, Australia and died December 18, 1977 in Chicago, Illinois. He was an international star of stage, screen, and TV, as well as a director. He achieved legendary status in 1954 as Captain Hook in the Broadway production of Peter Pan co-starring Mary Martin.
