Cosmetology refers to care of skin, hair and nails. This includes manicures, pedicures, application of acrylic nails, styling, shampooing hair, cosmetics, and massage therapy and/or waxing. To be a cosmetologist in the United States requires a licence, which must be renewed every two years.
