Coos Bay is small S-shaped inlet, approximately 10 mi (16 km) long and 2 mi (3 km) wide, on the Pacific Ocean coast of southwestern Oregon in the United States.
It located in northern Coos County. The towns of North Bend and Coos Bay are located along the bay. The Coos River enters the way from the east, descending from the Coastal Range. The bay and the towns along it have formed one of the most important ports throughout the history of the state, especially for timber from the surrounding forest regions.
