Charles Platt

Charles Platt is the author of 40 fiction and nonfiction books, including science-fiction novels such as The Silicon Man (endorsed by William Gibson as "A plausible, well-crafted narrative exploring cyberspace in a wholly new and very refreshing way") and Protektor (recently published in paperback by Avon Books ).

Platt is a contributing writer for Wired magazine, where a dozen of his features have appeared so far. His nonfiction has appeared in publications such as Omni, The Washington Post, and The Los Angeles Times.

He also teaches computer graphics at a college in New York City and is vice-president of CryoCare Foundation , a cryonics organization that he co-founded in 1994.

Platt is British-born but has lived in New York City since 1970.
