Category:Nordic folklore

The Nordic folklore has its sources mainly from old Icelandic poems (Íslendingasögur), but also the Finnish poems (Kalevala) and Muittalus Samid birra . Slightly more scientific work are the 19th c. 'fragments from North Scandinavia', where shamanistic elements are further investigated: Theory of Gods (Gudalära), Theory of Sacrifice (Offerlära), Theory of Prophecy (Spådomslära) and Saami sagas.
