Carbon trading

In geopolitics or economics, carbon trading is a practice that allows one country to offset its effective carbon dioxide emmissions by investing in reforestation and "clean energy" in another less-developed country. According to the British Broadcasting Corporation, the European Union as of late 2004 was "pioneering" carbon trading. Also according to the Corporation, Shell had as of late 2004 been active in carbon trading.
