Buena Vista Social Club Chronology
Only album
(2001)

Buena Vista Social Club is an album with songs from the film of the same name, featuring Cuban music.

The musicians who feature in this album were once members of a members-only club named the Buena Vista Social Club, that was at its height during the 1940s; many of them have been performing in Cuba for the last sixty years.

Buena Vista Social Club started a craze in the West for Latin American music, particularly Cuban music. The four opening chords of "Chan Chan" are almost instantly recognisable, for example.
