Bernard Loiseau

Bernard Loiseau (January 13, 1951 - February 24, 2003) was a French chef.

Bernard Loiseau was born January 13, 1951 in Chamalières . As a teenager, he decided to become chef. His first contact with a high quality restaurant was at the "Trois Gros" between 1968 and 1971. He owned his first restaurant "La Côte d'Or" in 1982. The well known Guide Michelin gave his restaurant a 3-star rating in 1991.

He was the first one to introduce his company in financial market in 1998.

On February 24, 2003, Bernard committed suicide after the Gault Millau restaurant guide downgraded his restaurant from 19 to 17. At the same time a downgrade by Michelin from three to two stars had been rumoured, but was not done and a denial had been issued to the press.
