Benjamin Pierce (December 25, 1757-April 1, 1839), U.S. politician, He served as Governor of New Hampshire from 1827 to 1828 and from 1829 to 1830. He was a distinguished veteran of the Revolutionary War. Prior to becoming governor, he served twice as Sheriff of Hillsborough County and in the New Hampshire state legislature. He was the father of President Franklin Pierce.
