Artur Bernardes
Artur da Silva Bernardes (August 8, 1875 - March 23, 1955). Brazilian politician. Born in Viçosa , Minas Gerais state. Elected governor of this state in 1918 and became president of Brazil in 1922 until 1926. Facing a military rebellion, Bernardes ruled under a state of siege during most of the course of his term.
