Argumentation theory

Argumentation theory derives from the definition of 'argument' as it relates to philosophy and the study of logic, wherein an argument is a civil debate or dialogue. The theory of argumentation relates to the belief that people can, given certain rules of debate or argumentation, represent and reason their way through a logical dialogue about various propositions, in order to come to a rational and consistent decision.
