Andrea Thompson

Rebecca Andrea Thompson (born 6 January 1960) is a American actress, best known for her roles on the television series Falcon Crest, Babylon 5, NYPD Blue.

Born in Dayton, Ohio, Thompson spent much of her childhood in Australia, returning to the United States to pursue an acting and modeling career. Her first significant film role was in the 1987 film Wall Street. In 1989 she was cast on the soap opera Falcon Crest, and in 1993 in the science-fiction television series Babylon 5 as telepath Talia Winters. Thompson married Babylon 5 co-star Jerry Doyle in 1995, shortly before leaving the series at the end of its second season; they had one son, Alec, but divorced in 1997. Thompson moved on to appear as Detective Jill Kirkendall on three seasons of crime drama NYPD Blue, leaving in 2000 to pursue a career in journalism.

After working for only a year as a reporter and backup anchor on CBS affiliate KRQE in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Thompson was scouted and hired by CNN and hired as an evening anchor for CNN Headline News in August of 2001. She left the network only a few months later, in March of 2002. More recently, Thompson has had a recurring guest role on the third season of 24.
