The Amsterdam Stock Exchange (AEX) is a European stock exchange, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It recently merged with the Brussels Stock Exchange and the Paris Stock Exchange to form Euronext.

The Amsterdam Stock Exchange is considered the oldest in the world. It was established in 1602 by the Verenigde Oostindische Compagnie (VOC) for dealings in its printed stocks and bonds. It was subsequently renamed the Amsterdam Bourse and was the first to formally begin trading in securities.
